Stella is quite the performer — a singer and co-host at EXPLOSÉ, a guitar player in Jam Band Club, and now a musical theatre star. Keep reading to find out more about Stella’s experience at EXPLO.
How do you like your courses so far?
Right now I’m in Musical Theatre, and I love it. I love theatre and everything arts-related — dance, music, writing, whatever — so I’m doing things I enjoy. It’s also been really nice because I haven’t really gotten to do anything in person in over a year with COVID and everything. I’m excited to be back around other people my age.
How is your time at EXPLO going overall?
I’m just trying to hold on to everything. I love everybody here, and my courses and electives. My friends and I have been talking about how we want to make each moment special, and not waste it. Not having our phones, we do a lot of stuff every day. When I was at home, I used to not do that much in a day. But, now I can’t imagine going home and just doing nothing in a day. Here, we have time with each other, and our friendships get really strong that way.
On the first day, people talking to me and my friends thought — oh, you already know each other. But, we only met two days ago. It’s just how close we all got really quickly. EXPLO is like that.
Do you have a dream job? If so, what is it?
Well, I really wanted to do Musical Theatre when I grew up. But, over COVID, I realized that I wanted to get more involved in Marketing. It’s cool because I got to do the Marketing + Advertising Course last week, and this week, I get to do Musical Theatre. I like that at EXPLO I get to sample everything and explore those different options.
