Natalya, Charlotte, and Natalie had a packed day — they went from planning a creative Explosé performance to designing a dream apartment building to divulging a certain RA's unique fear! Read on for more about the highlights of their day, their thoughts on their time at EXPLO so far, and their bucket list travel destinations.
What's been the highlight of your day today?
Charlotte: The highlight of my day has been filming and editing a video I'm a part of for Explosé. It's called Abi and Charlotte on the Street. If you've ever seen Billy on the Street, it's like that: we're running up to people and asking them random questions. Their reactions have been really good!
Natalie: My highlight of the day was finding out that my RA is scared of tater tots!
Natalya: My favorite part of my day was probably my class in the morning. I'm in Architecture, and we were designing our own buildings — literally any building we wanted. I was designing this apartment building. I cut everything out to scale, and I was gluing it together today — that was really fun.
Natalie, what has your second summer at EXPLO been like? What made you want to come back for another summer?
Natalie: I'm happy to be back! I actually haven't recognized that many people from my session before — we have a lot of new people. It's been interesting to see how different it is, because, of course, last time, we had a lot of trips, and we're also on a different campus now. It's been a different experience, but it's been super cool. And I just really liked meeting a bunch of new people — meeting people from different countries, people with different ways of life. It's interesting to have all these people come together here.
Charlotte and Natalya, what have you been enjoying about your first EXPLO experience?
Natalya: I really enjoy being on a college campus, because I've never really been on one — I went on a couple of college tours with my sister, but we couldn't really go in any buildings; so it's been a nice experience to have. I also really enjoy meeting a lot of new people, especially making friends from different countries, because I never could've met them at home.
Charlotte: I agree with Natalya — I think being on this campus has been really great. And my classes so far have been really interesting and really fun, so that's been a highlight for me, as well as making new friends.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Natalya: I really want to go to Italy! I'm really into Renaissance periods, and I would really love to go and see all the museums there, and the artwork, and the history. Also, the food is really good, I've heard, so it's a place I've really wanted to go to!
Natalie: I've always wanted to go to Iceland! It's always seemed like a really cool place to go. I'm lucky that I've gotten to go on some beach and warm vacations, but I think a cold vacation would be interesting, too.
Charlotte: And I would say Australia! I've never been, but it seems really cool.
