Meet Jeremy and Milan: Dedicated Members of Science Society

Jeremy and Milan disclose what they've been learning about in Science Society and discuss their particular interests in quantum physics.

During Clubs, Leagues, and Activities every other afternoon, students can choose what they want to do each day out of a number of different offerings. Will it be Art Club? Improv? Guitar? Gaga? Board Games? If you're looking for Jeremy or Milan, you'll want to head over to Science Society. Jeremy and Milan shared with us what Science Society is all about and talked more about their scientific interests and endeavors. I also heard some talk about a potential Explosé performance involving some sort of watermelon explosion experiment, so you'll definitely want to stay tuned for more from Science Society!

Can you tell me what you're up to right now?

Milan: We're in Science Society, and we're currently learning about explosions, rockets, and fireworks.

Jeremy: We also took a little detour into sugar — we watched a video about how sugar is made. It's kind of irrelevant, but it was the next suggested video after another video we watched!

What else have you done so far in Science Society?

Milan: Last week, we learned a lot about atoms and their subatomic particles, their cores, that sort of thing. And in some other meetings, we learned a lot about materials and how they contribute to science.

Is there a particular type of science that you're most interested in?

Milan: I really like physics, quantum physics, and chemistry, because I'm interested in learning more about how the world works.

Jeremy: I would say quantum physics. I think it's so cool how things you don't think are possible are actually possible — they're just really, really small. There's also a lot that hasn't been done yet in quantum physics.

Milan: It's an opportunity to discover something new.

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in anything — science-related or not — what would you choose?

Milan: Can my answer be super vague? I'd probably just say science in general!

Jeremy: I would be even more vague and just say everything!
