Liam is 13 years old and this is his fourth time at EXPLO! He wants to make the world a better, safer place — and he's starting with Criminal Investigations at EXPLO.
I’ve always wanted to do something good for the world. I’m not really sure yet what or how, but I have time to figure it out. I just dream of having a really good world without any criminals or anything bad happening, and everyone getting along well. Not that there’s anything extremely bad with how the world is right now, but I think there’s always room for improvement. We can always strive for things to be better, even if it’s just a little bit. I also think we have a very high crime rate and that’s something I would like to change. I’ve always wanted to become a police officer.
I’m taking the Criminal Investigations course. There’s one crime that we have for the whole three weeks and we have to figure out how to solve it. It’s about how someone’s house was broken into and the whole building was trashed. I’ve learned a lot of things throughout the course that I’ve always wanted to know — how to carry out an investigation step-by-step and then solve the crime. So the first thing to do is to look for fingerprints and some kind of hints on who could it be. When you have enough evidence, you can use that information to find out exactly who it is and then have them questioned. I’m really glad that I picked that course because I feel like it has been a good introduction to the field that I’m interested in.
