Elan has been to Spain, Portugal, France, and many other countries, but we’re happy that this summer, Elan has settled here with us on the Sarah Lawrence Campus in New York. Keep reading to find out more about how the first few days at EXPLO are going for Elan.
How are you liking EXPLO so far?
I’m loving it! The courses are really interesting and intriguing — right now, I’m in Stock Market Investing. I really like stocks, and I talk to my dad a lot about them. Part of his job is investing in companies, so I aspire to do cool things like that too.
What were you talking about in your course today?
We were talking about the iPhone and investing in Apple products. I was born in the same year as the iPhone, so it makes me feel really old. It feels like an old invention now. I think it was a revolutionary invention because it’s something that was different that wasn’t really done before. But, it’s been around my whole life — so I feel old.
Tell me a little about your interests outside of courses.
I love geography. When I was little, my dad brought home this big atlas. I would just marvel at it and be so intrigued by it. That caused me to memorize every single country's capital, learn a lot about the world, and want to see all of the world. I’ve been to a lot of countries, but the most interesting place I’ve been was Morocco. I got to pick my own fish from the fishermen, and they grilled it up right there so I could eat it fresh. We’re going to Australia next.
