Meet Maeve from New York

Maeve has returned for her third Explo summer and her first at Explo at Wellesley.

Maeve has returned for her third Explo summer and her first at Explo at Wellesley. She is a girl of many interests, from basketball and sports, to Minecraft, video games, and learning about architecture.

My favorite thing at Explo at Wheaton was the workshops because I got to do so many different things, like cooking. My first year, I was in Explo ER and I really enjoyed it. For the second year, I took Explo 360, and I really liked taking all the different courses and workshops. This year, I’m looking forward to going into The Vil and learning even more new things. It’s a much larger campus here and I really like it.

My courses have been very fun so far. I’m taking Video Game Design, which is really cool. We’re learning how to code games. I like video games, and Minecraft is my favorite game because it’s all about exploring. Coding is something I’ve always wanted to learn.

I’m also taking Architectural Design, which is really fun. I’m really into real estate, and I’ve always liked designing homes. I hope I can learn how to measure a home. I don’t know anyone who does it but I’ve always been interested in it because I watch all those TV shows about it. House Hunters International is my favorite one. You get to see all these homes from around the world.

I love how Explo gives us all these opportunities. I never thought I could make a video game, but now I am going to learn how.
