EXPLO is an entirely new experience for Hanna, and she's embracing every opportunity she can to explore and grow. That includes her courses — Psychology, Creative Writing, and a leadership seminar — as well as immersing herself in the community to make new friends.
Oh man, Georgia is very different to New Haven, or at least the part of New Haven that I have explored. This place is more of a small town, which some people may not enjoy but I quite like. People here seem to be really friendly, I have had many conversations with different people. I could attribute this generosity to EXPLO. I find that being here brings a great sense of joy to people and that may be why I feel a friendlier environment here.
If I was not here at EXPLO I would probably be sitting at home and hanging out with my friends, which is great, but being here means I can finally dive into a lot of things I previously could not do at home. I also came alone, so I have found myself having to go out and make new friends, which has been good for me.
This whole experience is new to me. I have never really done anything like this but the more I am here, the more I realize how great an opportunity it is for me. I would like to attend Yale University, so this is a good starting point in that aspect, but I am also learning a lot more than I expected here. I am most excited to walk away with new lessons and things that I would never have gotten anywhere else.
