Rosie and Karen, business partners and owners of EXOptics, are selling their Explo sunglasses this evening on the quad! They discuss their marketing plan as well as how they got into the business world.
Karen: We’re selling Explo sunglasses and the money is going to the Explo scholarship foundation! Our sunglasses are orange. Most people prefer to buy the white ones, but we are marketing that orange represents Explo!
Rosie: It’s our project for Advertising and Marketing class. It’s going better than we thought it would! The best part is seeing how your advertising company does and how the product sells compared to our competitors.
Karen: I took Advertising and Marketing to see if I liked that part of the business world. I really like it. I’m also taking Anatomy and Physiology since I am also interested in science. I wanted to experience both subjects to see what I like.
Rosie: I like business already, and part of having a business is knowing how to market your products. I’m also enjoying it. I would like to learn other parts of business, but this is a huge part of it that I am glad I am learning!
