Anna Kai, an Explo at Wellesley Student Ambassador, can't wait for next Monday's main event, Take a Stand. As she gets ready to transition to high school at the end of summer, she truly appreciates the lack of judgement and the strong feeling of community at Explo.
I'm super excited for Take a Stand this year — I'm actually counting down the days. It's a great event where everyone gets to talk about some really deep, personal stuff. We all got so close from it last year.
I remember one kid who just completely opened up. He went up in front of the group and said that he didn't really have any friends, how he only had his brother, and instantly someone screamed out, "You do have friends! Everyone here is your friend!" We all ran in and hugged him and it was just so amazing. Literally one of the best moments I've ever experienced. I've never been to another event quite like it.
It works at Explo because you never, ever get judged here, and that's something I can't really say about anywhere else.
