Zach has his sights set on becoming an industrial engineer, but that isn't stopping him from exploring other interests at EXPLO this summer — including Game Theory and Improvisational Acting.
I'm a rising senior so I pretty much have my college list set. The first thing I look for in a college is that, when I visit, I want to feel that I can move onto that campus. I don't want it to be too small or too big, but I want a sense of school spirit at the college. I go to an all boys school now and I love the spirit that I have there. So I'm really looking for a sense of community in the school, alongside a great education.
I want to major in industrial engineering. I like things to be more efficient; it makes me upset when things aren't. It comes naturally to me to find efficiencies, and doing industrial engineering work is something that won't make me bored. I can take a task, finish it, and move on. I haven't done many things related to industrial engineering in the past because it's hard to get a internship before going into college. So for now I'm continuing to do other things I love, like public speech and debate.
I'm taking Improvisational Acting and Game Theory here at EXPLO. I love improv and I'm in an improv group back home. My mind flies fast and improv channels that. I love thinking on the spot. Every time I get a chance to do improv, even if my friends call me out for it, I just have to do it — it's so much fun!
