EXPLO is a lot of fun! It’s my third week here and I’m having a blast. I’m taking Molecular Gastronomy. It’s a lot of fun, you learn about science while cooking — my two favorite things! I’m also taking a class in Business and Entrepreneurship. I’m actually selling my product right now that we made in class, which is called the “Smuggy Mug.” It’s a product that has several purposes; you can drink from it and also draw on it with chalk. It’s selling for $5 (cash only) as an EXPLO souvenir. The money that we raise all goes towards the EXPLO student scholarship, which gives money to people who may not be able to afford a full session at EXPLO. I like that I’m making a difference and helping show more people how amazing this program is.

When I grow up, I’m hoping that I can be a lawyer. I think my classes at EXPLO will help me achieve my goals, because classes here teach you about how much work you have to put in to making something happen. You have to manage all the different parts of your product — from design to advertising and marketing. There is a lot of work, but when you put in the work the finished product is amazing — and you can really apply that to anything that you do.
