Hot off the heels of a record-setting IPO, Beyond Meat Executive Chairman Seth Goldman is set to speak with EXPLO entrepreneurship students during the 2019 summer sessions.
Goldman, one of the most successful entrepreneurs of the past two decades, led the plant-based food substitute to close out it’s first day of trading 163 percent over it’s IPO — making it the best-performing first-day IPO in nearly 20 years. Goldman and his team were recently honored by TIME Magazine when the publication named Beyond Sausage one of the 50 Best Inventions of 2018.
Goldman got his start as an entrepreneur when he launched Honest Tea with his co-founder and Yale Business School professor, Barry Nalebuff, in 1998. Prior to earning his MBA and launching the business, he taught English abroad, worked on the 1988 Michael Dukakis presidential campaign, served as press secretary for U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentson (D-Tex.), was an AmeriCorps volunteer and interned with the U.S. State Department. Goldman was also a faculty member at EXPLO when he was an undergraduate at Harvard.

The company was recently name a Forbes CircleUp25 Top Consumer Brand for 2018 and one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies for 2017.

In March 2011, Honest Tea was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company, becoming the first organic and Fair Trade brand in the world’s largest beverage distribution system. Seth also serves on the board of Ripple Foods, the Yale School of Management, the American Beverage Association, and Bethesda Green.
