Tonight's event, Riddles and Skits, marked the end of arrival day at EXPLO Wheaton. Students gathered on the quad and watched two teams of staff compete against one another to see who could answer the most riddles and perform the best skits. Students formed their own team, writing down their answers to riddles and earning points when they got them correct. After the event, students had a snack and headed back to their dorms for the night. We can't wait for our first full EXPLO day tomorrow!
Arrival day can be a mix of emotions for students and parents alike. Meeting new friends, moving into a new home away from home for three weeks, and embarking on a new adventure all over the course of a few hours is a big step! The students at EXPLO at Wheaton have handled it gracefully, moving through their introductory activities, meeting new faces, and jumping right in to the world of EXPLO with courage and excitement.
The first day of EXPLO summer 2021 is finally here! With excitement running high, delighted staff members and advisors welcomed EXPLO students to the Wheaton campus, helping them with their luggage and moving them into their dorms. Students set up their rooms, met their new neighbors, old friends and friends to be, before heading off to dinner and evening activities.
Staff orientation at Wheaton has been jam-packed with preparations for the first session of 2021. On Thursday, staff members continued getting to know one another, exploring the Wheaton campus, and preparing material for the summer ahead.
