Victoria came to Explo with the ambition to discover which area of studies would suit her best for a career. She explains how she found herself interested in both medicine and economics.
My friend told me about Explo because she came here for a few years, since Explo was at St. Mark’s. This summer, I’m taking Economics, First Aid Training, and Stage Makeup.
I always wanted to be doctor when I was younger. As I got older, I was unsure what I wanted to do. I became interested in economics and similar subjects, but still was curious about medicine as well. Taking these classes at Explo is helping me decide which field would be a better fit for me.
As of now, I am leaning more towards medicine. I like helping people. I’m finding thats what I always wanted to do. It’s very cool and rewarding. Although I love economics and it is very interesting to me, it’s not a very hands-on subject — and I am a hands-on learner.
I’m involved with stage makeup because my friends who took it last year said it was fun, so I decided to try it. I’m loving it! I’m in musicals and I’ll do my own makeup and help others with theirs. I’ll keep these creative hobbies with me as I study medicine.
