Having a ton of fun with her new friends and exploring the Yale campus, Sammy also expands her interest in music and marketing, so she could learn more about the subject of her future occupation.

I love it [Explo]. It’s amazing. The classes are so interactive here. I feel like I am learning more in classes here than in my school just because I am more engaged and more interested in what I’m learning. The instructors make the learning fun. I am taking Rock Performance and Advertising + Marketing. I have been playing drums since I was in the second grade. When we were younger, my brother started playing the guitar, and I thought it was really cool to play an instrument. I wanted to do that too, so I picked drums. I like how unique every song is and how you can make anything your own. I make my own beats sometimes, and I change up songs. When we played at the Community Meeting, I feel like I made that song my own.

[From the classes I am getting] definitely more experience in a band, because I haven’t really had that much experience in that. And I am learning about other instruments as well, like singing and guitar. Even bass guitar. At home, I just play — I am not in a band there. I am in one here. We are called Worlds of Difference, because we’re from all over the world.

I want to be a photographer. So although I am not doing anything related to photography here, I was thinking doing photography in the advertising and marketing business or music business. So I am sort of learning the background of what I want to photograph later [in my life].
