With a dedication to comedy and acting, Jessica wants to become a better actress during this summer and make connections that last for a lifetime.
It’s my first year here and it’s great. I like the classes and the diversity of the people. I like the campus… I just… I like everything. Everyone’s so friendly and beautiful. I take Acting + Directing and Musical Theater. I do the acting and directing part back home but I don’t do musical theater, so I wanted to try something new in what I like to do. And I love Musical Theater — it’s beautiful. We learned a song and now we are learning the dance to the song, so we can perform it with a little acting piece next to it. With acting, you’re becoming a new person — the character and how I put my own personality into the character and become someone else.
I started acting in 6th grade. When I watched movies when I was younger, I looked at them and thought I want to do that. I want to be that. I like Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill. I love how funny they are. And comedy I like the most. I like the movies and I love the way they make me feel. And I want to make other people feel like that.
It’s just astounding to me how many great actors and actresses there are in my classes. I don’t feel like I’m even good and it’s pushing me to be better and it’s showing me how I could be better. That’s what I’m going to remember throughout my entire life.
