Meet Adriana from Lebanon

If you see rising sophomore Adriana pull out her phone, she's most likely catching up on her world politics.

If you were to see rising sophomore Adriana pull out her phone, she's most likely reading up on her world politics.  She's continuing to explore her passion for this subject matter through EXPLO's International Relations course.

I love to read the newspaper.  It’s a Lebanese newspaper, but it’s in French.  I’m French educated.  My parents speak to me in Arabic because they don’t want me to lose the language, but I respond in French.

Every morning, I’ll wake up 30 minutes before the bus comes. When I walk into the kitchen, my dad is always already there, reading about the political news. We have animated discussions and debates all throughout breakfast until I have to go to school.

I want to be in politics when I grow up. I’d love to be in the ministry of education, or perhaps even a diplomat. I want to help my country and make a change in our political climate.  In my opinion, it’s not right to be a citizen of this world and leave it without ever trying to change a person’s life for the better.
