Today the young chefs start working on the misoplace for the EXPLO Grand Buffet! The kitchen is full of exciting energy and enticing smells! Students grill, poach, roast, bake, carve and chop an extras inset array of food. Tomorrow will be an exciting day!
Anchors away! Set sail and climb aboard one of the most exciting nights at Explo! Cruise Night! Students sail around the Boston Harbor at sunset while enjoying music and quality time with new friends.
Using several different preparation techniques, students learn how to bake a variety of breads including focaccia, ciabatta and French style loaves.
This afternoon the students visit America's oldest continuously operating restaurant, The Union Oyster House. Sitting in the booth that JFK routinely sat in before he became president, students learn about many of the distinguished guests who have dined here. They tour the restaurant and meet a 50 year-old lobster weighing close to 20 lbs! Finally, they observe the proper way to shuck oysters, all while enjoying complimentary clam chowder and corn bread.
