In her sixth year at Explo, this veteran has learned to cultivate her skills as a performer, director, and musician. Most importantly, she has learned how important it is to think creatively and explore even the most random avenues.

Sometimes, the best things happen completely by accident. Like, I was in my viral video making class and we were trying to figure out something to make and recreate as a stop motion film for our assignment. As a joke, I said we should recreate the Powerpuff girls theme song, and everyone was like, yeah, let's do it! And then we were off! We had to spend some time to carefully create a cast, and then filming was difficult because we had to move really slowly to capture it all on film.

I wasn't as passionate about films when I started, but I really like this class — it's so interesting! We explore special effects and learn about how much thought goes into the video making process. I've learned so much making this video alone. We had to film so many times because we were going so fast and the voice-over didn't match up, so I really discovered how much hard work is put into perfecting something that can look so simple and easy as a finished product.

At Explo, they have you going and going and going, but in a good way. It pushes you to try new things, to never be afraid to be unique, and to explore even the most random ideas because you never know when they can turn into something amazing.
