This international dancer has traveled from Panama to take risks and explore new styles of dance here at Explo.
Why did I fly all the way from Panama to come to Explo? There's really nothing at all like this place in Panama. There are so many opportunities for fun and learning in the United States that aren't available in Panama, so I'm really lucky to be able to come here.
Explo is great because it makes it easy to take a risk and take a chance to see if I love something new that I would probably never get to do at home.
My favorite thing in the world is dance. It's a way to express myself when I can't through my words. I started when I was three, and have learned ballet, modern dance, and jazz since then. Ballet is my favorite of them all and I even compete in ballet competitions around the world — from Panama, to Prague, around the U.S., and now, to Explo!
This summer, I'm taking a hip-hop class, which is a style of dance I've never done before. I'm so excited to have the chance to learn something completely different from what I'm used to. Explo is great because it makes it easy to take a risk and take a chance to see if I love something new that I would probably never get to do at home.
