Tessa returns to Explo at Wellesley for her second year to continue trying new things before she enters high school. She feels like Explo is a totally different place from her middle school — in the best way possible.

This year I'm taking Model U.N. and Actor's Studio. You could say those go together, but to be honest I wasn't thinking of that when I signed up — I just have a lot of different interests. I really enjoy Actor's Studio, but I loved acting already. Model U.N. has been great so far in a different way because it's taught me to think about things in the bigger picture. There are so many aspects of anything, so many causes and so many effects, so many things that you'd never think of.

I'm starting high school, which I'm really excited for. I... survived middle school. It wasn't the best. But I'm excited for a fresh start. I went to a very small middle and elementary school, so I've never been around that many people my same age in my life besides here at Explo. I love the amount of freedom you have to pursue your own interests, which I hope will carry over at my high school too. Like, in middle school, I was too afraid to join the Literary Club. Here, I'm taking Model U.N. and went on stage at a magic show in front of strangers. No shame.
