The next Michelangelo may be among us here at Explo at Wellesley. Sophie, a lover of art and basketball, blends her talents to make innovative 3D designs and drawings in the hopes of displaying her art for the entire world to see!

I love art and basketball, but art a bit more. I try to combine what I love so it is more meaningful to me. Like, for Father's Day, I drew a basketball sitting on a desk for my dad. We get to do things like that all the time here at Explo.

We're making plastic inflatable 3D sculptures in class today. Some people made cubes, but we decided to make stars — because we are stars! We also just made a 3D sculpture completely out of candy. My group made a chair hanging from a ceiling made out of wire and I attached a ton of jelly beans and starbursts to it. It's so different but so cool. That's what I love about Explo. The classes are so independent and different from anything that I've done at school, that you really can be creative and free to do what you want. It's a lot of fun.

I want to be an artist when I grow up, but I still have a lot of time to think about it. Explo introduces you to new and different types of art through classes like Guerilla Art and Abstract Art, so I think by the end of Explo I'll have a much better of idea of what I want to be and what kind of art I want to do.
