This foreign first-timer is eager to enjoy the great outdoors while at Explo. He's hoping to soak in American culture while leaving his own mark at Explo.
This is my first year at Explo and I love it. I’m taking courses on Game Design and Wilderness Survival. Wilderness Survival is my favorite because I get a chance to enjoy all of the wildlife and nature here, which is something I don’t get at home. The air here is so much fresher and the grass is so beautiful, you can even sleep on it! You probably don’t realize how beautiful the outdoors is here but I try to enjoy it every day that I’m here.
I think the biggest lesson that I can learn from Explo is learning more about American culture. Because I’m from China, it’s a little bit difficult to understand all of the little cultural things here, but I am ready to learn. I’m hoping that Explo can help improve my English and I think it’s already getting better, even by being here just a few days. I hope that I can teach people things here too. People should know that there’s not a very big difference between people from country to country, no matter where you come from. Everyone I’ve met at Explo is so kind and willing to help each other.
