People say that a picture tells a thousand words. The way I like to think of it, is that art expresses how a person is feeling. It doesn’t say who they are, but it shows what you’re thinking and there are so many styles that you can express yourself in.

Explo is helping me explore different parts of art that I never even knew existed. I normally wouldn’t use these types of methods because I don’t have the material or never have the ideas, but Explo is giving me all the resources and ideas possible to be as creative as I want. Like, today in my abstract art class, we’ve been doing balloon painting. We blow up a balloon, put paint into it, and then pop it onto a canvas.

If I had to choose, I’d say that digital art and working with Photoshop is my favorite type of art. There’s just so much material and you can be as creative as you want with it. I’m always trying new things with different forms of art, too. Something cool I’ve been trying lately is auditory art. I love listening to music and singing a song and then drawing or painting how it makes me feel.

If a friend was interested in art and asked me where to start, I would suggest to start off easy with small sketches and learning the basics first. Then, I’d say to start learning whatever type you want to learn because it makes it so much more enjoyable to learn.
