I’m taking Sketch Comedy and Sports and Debate at Explo this summer. Taking the Sports and Debate course has brought my interest to the next level, because I get to see sports in a whole new light. We learn about all these different athletes and sometimes have press conferences where we talk about the pros and cons of trading players. Before the course, I hadn’t really thought much about being a broadcaster; I just always watched the professionals. But when you’re actually doing it, it’s fun and exciting because your opinions actually matter to people and you feel like you’re heard and really respected.
If I had to give someone a piece of advice, in sports and in life, I think if you want to get good at something, you really have to work hard. There’s always going to be someone better than you, but if you have the right motivation and work really hard, you can do really well.
