Melchior, a rising ninth grader, is taking Sketch Comedy and Commercial Marketing for his first Explo experience at Wellesley. Also, he's really enjoying the food.
This week in 30 Second Spot: Commercial Marketing, we're making an advertisement for Explo. We haven't started recording yet, but we're working on a script that sort of captures the feeling of here — all the creativity and intelligence and humor. I'm also taking Sketch Comedy, where we're working on skits. We do one thing in that class called "character hot spot" that I really like. You sit in a chair and you have to make up a character and then come up with good answers for a bunch of questions that other people ask you.
This is my first time at Explo, and there have been a lot of surprises. Like how much we eat. It doesn't sound crazy, but there's so much going on here, so much to do, that you have to keep up your energy. I can never believe how many activities and workshops there are, how you can never do them all. Which is okay. All of them are fun, and all of them are Explo.
