Both on the soccer field and in the classroom as an architect, commercial marketer, and interior remodeler, Kian shares how trying new things and being himself has helped him shine.

I’m taking courses in interior remodeling and commercial marketing this summer. They’re both things that I only had an idea that I was interested in, but decided to take a chance. I found out that I really love them. My favorite is interior remodeling because we get to create our dream houses and actually bring it to life in a miniature model. The blueprints are my favorite parts because you put in all this time creating it and then you see it all in real life. I knew that I had an interest in architecture and remodeling, but it all just really came out for me during Explo.

When I’m not in class, you’re most likely to find my out on the soccer field. I play goalkeeper and striker because the coaches put me in there and I played really well. Just like when designing a new house, you sometimes face a lot of obstacles on the soccer field, but I’ve found out that staying true to who you are and finding new ways to solve problems has really helped me succeed. I’d say that on and off the field, as long as you bring yourself, people will like you and you’ll succeed at whatever you’re trying to achieve.
