If you're on a quest to seek truths and deeper meanings to some of life's most difficult questions, you'll probably bump into Keagan, wandering down the same winding path of life. In his first year at Explo, Keagan is energized to learn new ways of thinking and knowing from different perspectives across the world. He hopes to channel his philosophical mind into creating films and literature that challenge his audience to think.

Today in my Philosophy + Ethics workshop, we had to make a really difficult decision: who do you kick off a boat to save your own life, when you only know a person's age and profession? I was a 40-year-old man and in the end, I actually voted myself off the boat, in favor of a baby surviving. We reasoned that the 40-year-old has lived his life considerably, so we would rather save the baby because there are so many more opportunities that a baby can have in life. It was hard to sacrifice myself, but I knew that I was looking at the greater good instead of just myself. The hardest part of it all was not knowing what people are really like behind face-value. It's kind of hard knowing you have to accept things in life at face value and make difficult decisions, but I think that's part of growing up.

I'm quite interested in literature, philosophy, and film-making and I'm so grateful that Explo is teaching me so much about all of those things. There are so many people from all over with so many different points of views and they're sharing those perspectives without attacking each other. I really appreciate how open-minded Explo is.

In the future, I want to be a filmmaker or a writer. Particularly, I want to write crime fiction and I think that I can put world views and different ways of thinking about an issue into my work, thanks to a lot of what I learned here at Explo about thinking deeper and challenging everything.
