Meet Kay from New York

Although she's still figuring out what she wants to be when she grows up, Kay knows that if she could have any superpower, it would be the power to have every superpower.

Although she's still figuring out what she wants to be when she grows up, Kay knows that if she could have any superpower, it would be the power to have every superpower.

This is my third year at EXPLO but my first at Wellesley. I did two years at Wheaton, and one of them was the Veterinary Science Focus Program. My parents signed me up because I really wanted to be a vet, but then it transitioned into wanting to be a surgeon, mostly because of Grey's Anatomy. But now I'm not sure what I want to be. I feel like EXPLO is the place to kind of figure out what you want to do because you can try a little bit of everything until you find your fit. It's just a safe environment where you can go and be yourself. You can really figure out who you are here, without any judgement.

I think there's a big difference between the Wheaton and Wellesley programs because we get a lot more freedom here. They trust you to walk around by yourself and you get to go places like the Vil. I loved Wheaton, and it makes sense because the younger kids need more monitoring, but it's cool that we can do more things by ourselves here.

I would describe myself as strong, loyal, and funny. Someone I really look up to is Beyoncé. She's one of the most powerful women out there. She's always kicking it, doing whatever the heck she wants. She sets a really good examples for girls who feel like they can't be who they want to be just  because they're girls. She proves that girls can do anything and everything.
