Kalei is a young woman of many interests. From her athletic life to her academic life to her social life, she proves that she can do it all. But amongst all these interests is one dream that's very important to her.
I play a lot of soccer, I’m very loud, and I make really close friendships really fast, which is an important skill to have. I’ve made a lot more friends here than I even thought I was going to make! They’ve become some of my closest friends and I love them. I think that’s common here at Explo! I’ve met so many people who just didn’t expect the amount of friends they would make here so quickly.
The courses are also really fun, but still educational. They feel catered to what you like to do. I’m taking Debate and Mock Trial, which I really like, because I want to be a lawyer when I grow up. Mock Trial is kind of like that first run through of the whole lawyer experience. It’s definitely a unique experience that I’ve never had before. I’ve never done anything like it, but I love it.
I want to be a lawyer because I find it really intriguing. I like the idea of representing someone, speaking for someone, helping someone, and even suing someone. I think it’s important because not everyone can represent themselves and lawyers do that for people. They help the people who don’t have the ability to help themselves. My cousin just finished law school and she’s going to take the bar exam really soon. She’s definitely a role model for me. I want to go to Harvard for law school!
