Harrison brings his love of teaching and Rubik's Cubes to Explo at Wellesley. So far, he's already taught four people!

I started playing with Rubik's Cubes three months ago. I learned how to solve one from YouTube, which took me four days because I kept messing up a few of the steps. On the fourth day, I had come up with a few tricks to help me remember which way to rotate each side, which is hard to do because "clockwise" and "counter-clockwise" mean opposite things on opposite sides of the cube.

Once I solved my first one, I kept getting faster and faster, and soon I started to teach people. So far, I've taught six people, including four here at Explo. People see me solving it and come up to me and say, "Hey, I want to learn that," so I schedule a time to teach them. I already have a few more people scheduled for this week, and I'm sure I'll teach even more people after Explo. I'm also into hacking and modding video games, and I've taught some people how to do that too. I always teach for free, because I feel like when I teach them, I get better at what I do. I've also learned some new Rubik's Cube algorithms from other people at Explo, and that's free too — it all works out evenly.

Oh, you want to take my picture with the cube? Want me to solve it first?
