Meet Fares from Lebanon

Ares from Lebanon talks about curiosity, economics, and medical careers.

Fares's curiosity makes him interested in many different things! From technology to Ga-ga ball, economics to medicine, Fares can let his curiosity loose here at Explo and become even more invested in his interests.

I’m a curious person and I like technology. Everything related to technology makes me curious. I like studying medical technology in the Medical Careers course, looking at the revolutionary stuff that helps save lives. It’s interesting to pay attention to the new vaccines that protect you from new bacteria.

I’m still confused about what I want to be when I grow up because I really like the Economics and Ethics of the Stock Market class I am taking, too. We get to simulate a stock market. It’s not luck — you have to think a little bit and be able to predict.

What I like about the economics class is the simulations where we get to use what we call Exbonds. One Exbond is five hundred dollars. Then, last week in Medical Careers, we dissected a pig! I had never done anything like that before.

The staff members are also great at Explo. They are always great to talk to and sit with at lunch. You can have great discussions with them, and you can talk to the so easily. The staff members are way more friendly than a school teacher usually is.

I will go home and tell my friends and family that Explo was a great experience, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When you first show up, it can be intimidating because everything is new here and you worry about making friends. But it gets so good!
