After his trip to the Adventure Park, Drew has many kind words for his fellow Explo students who encouraged him throughout the day. It is ultimately these kinds of friends and these unique experiences that keep him coming back to Explo.
I just loved the Adventure Park! It was so much fun! My favorite part was when I struggled on part of it and everyone was just cheering me on. When I tried to escape using one of the Escape Ziplines, I got tucked and my arms were so tired, I couldn’t pull myself back. So someone had to come and rescue me. But I got back on the ziplines after that. I didn’t give up because everyone wanted me to keep going. All my fellow Explo students were cheering me on. That’s pretty typical of Explo students.
I’ve made a lot of friends here at Explo. This is my third year here. I like the different options for courses that Explo has and all of the friends that I meet here. This session, I am taking Improv and Off-Road Vehicle Design. In Off-Road Vehicle Design, we get to build cars, which is really interesting. Improv is fun because you play games while learning to act. It’s so much fun to be with everyone, and it’s great that the only thing you can’t say is no.
It helps me outside of Explo, too. If I’m having a conversation and I don’t know what to say, I use my improv skills. But I think the most valuable skill I’ve gain at Explo is independence. Everyone is going to need that at some point in their life, and I learned it here at Explo. I’ve also learned how to do laundry here, which I find helpful.
