Meet Christopher from Connecticut

Christopher act as a mentor for new students in his role as an Explo Student Ambassador at Explo at Wellesley.

After spending several summers at Explo at St. Mark's and Explo at Wheaton, Christopher is so thankful to have a chance to act as a mentor for new students in his role as an Explo Student Ambassador at Explo at Wellesley this summer. From swimming and reading to longboarding and racing drones, this Ambassador's diverse hobbies and positive spirit makes him a stellar example of what it means to be a student at Explo.

You really can't even compare Explo to school. You're learning just as much but you don't even realize it! But that's actually the best part. One of my favorite courses is the hovercraft course at Explo at St. Mark's. They gave us this challenge to turn a leaf blower and a piece of wood into a hovercraft and use it to play air hockey. It was so awesome.

Do I think Explo will help me develop my interests? It already has! Every year when I come back from Explo, I gain an even better interest about a lot of the courses and ideas that I've learned here. Explo gives me a deeper understanding of the world and a deeper understanding of myself. I get to find out more about what I actually enjoy and about things that I've never learned before that spark my interest and get me excited about something I never would have thought about before.

My one piece of advice for new students would be to do something that they've never done before! Explo is pretty much the perfect place to spark your interest and find something you never knew about before and have that turn into something you love.
