Cameron is an EXPLO Ambassador who is returning to EXPLO for his fourth consecutive summer. He loves to play video games and go swimming and biking, but archery is his favorite.
The ambassador program is about introducing students and making sure they feel comfortable with the new environment that they’re in. EXPLO is a great place but it can be hard joining any community if you don’t know anyone, so it’s good that the ambassadors introduce people to each other.
What I really enjoy doing is archery. I just love to get in the groove of being able to hit the target every single time. I’ve been practicing for two years, so now I’m quite good at it, which means I can actually hit the target most of the time. It’s a very rewarding feeling.
I also like to read a lot of political dramas. The last book I read was called The Hero of Ages. It’s about an empire that is about to be overthrown and it’s dealing with what happens after they have overthrown the emperor. I like these books because they don’t just focus on the outcome — they go really in-depth on how something happens and what are the characters doing and how they are dealing with the aftermath.
If I wasn’t at EXPLO, I would still be going to another camp, but there’s none as good as EXPLO. I have a lot of fun here every year and I just can't wait to come back. Last year we went on a field trip to see the comedy group called Blue Man Group. That was really amazing; I loved it so much. This is actually my fourth time at EXPLO so I know a lot of people from last year who are coming back this year and I’m really excited to see them again.
