Ben may only be in eighth grade, but he discovered his musical talent at age one! Since then, his dream to be a musician has only grown. He's exploring that path at EXPLO in his Rock Band course.
I got my first little ukulele when I turned one, and I just picked it up and started strumming it. I have videos of it. I couldn’t play the chords but I had the strumming down. My parents were very surprised and happy about that. My dad plays saxophone and he was in a band for a few years. And my parents both do a lot of musical theater, and I do, too.
I’ve been obsessed with drums and guitars mostly my whole life. I got my first drum set and also started taking guitar lessons when I was five, and I've been doing it ever since. I practice almost every day. At EXPLO I’m in Rock Band; we’re choosing a few songs to perform and we’re also making up our own songs.
I look up to James Taylor because he’s been performing for so long and he’s gone through a lot of challenges in his life. It’s very inspiring. I want to be a musician like him.
