My favorite course at Explo is my Debate course, because it’s so inclusive. You can throw out any thought that you want to debate and anyone can say anything because no idea is ever a bad idea, if you argue it correctly. I also want to join my debate team in high school, so I think this is going to be a really good preparation for me. In class, I feel like I’m finding my own voice because I’m able to express myself and get my point across in a respectful but convincing way. I’ve realized that the main goal of debating is not to attack the person, but rather to attack their argument.

I love my debate course, but I’m not really sure if that’s what I want to do for a career. As of right now, I’m torn between working at NASA and working at a party planning business. They’re both very different from one another, I know! But I think the lessons that I’m learning now can help with anything I decide to do.

If I had one wish, I would choose to go into space and travel to all the galaxies and stars. I love the idea of space. I think if I put my mind to it, Explo could help me get there. First, I know that you have to be really fit to get to space, so I’d definitely take advantage of all of the sports and athletics offered during activity period. And, I know that you have to be really smart in the sciences, so I'd choose to take a hands-on physics or robotics course, where I could learn about space. There’s even a cooking class called Molecular Gastronomy, which teaches you cooking with chemistry, so you can incorporate science into all these fun activities and never get hungry on the spaceship. And I can even use my persuasive skills from my debate class to help convince all the other astronauts and recruiters that I’d be the best candidate to go to Mars.

The main thing I love about Explo is that I’ve been here for a week and a half, but I’ve literally met so many new people every single day and become such good friends with so many of them. If I had to explain Explo in one word, it would be absolutely incredible!
